You can't expect them to perform if they don't have the tools!

Technical training is very important, but it isn't enough.  Companies focus a lot of attention on technical issues, believing the "soft skill" issues will take care of themselves.  They won't.  Soft skills are just that -- SKILLS.  They can be taught and they can be learned.  Here are some of the courses we provide for our clients:

Help, these people are driving me crazy!  Service businesses are made up of people--our people are everything.  Sometimes, though, working with people can be frustrating.  If you've ever heard yourself think, "why does he ALWAYS do that?" then this course is for you.  We lead you through a study of behavior styles --yours and other people's.  We help you develop both an understanding and an appreciation of other people's styles.  You'll leave the course with a new attitude toward teamwork.

Why can't everyone be normal like me?  Denise Altman leads an exciting session designed to help participants better understand themselves, how they are perceived by others, and how they can improve their performance by managing their own behavior styles.

Would I work for me?  What kind of boss are you?  Do you communicate clearly?  Do you take time to listen and understand your team’s concerns?  Do you help employees grow and learn?  The number one reason people dislike their jobs is that they dislike their boss.  Being an effective boss is critical to your success and to your team’s success.  In thisworkshop, you’ll learn how.

Difficult Conversations  "We need to talk..."  These words can put a knot in the pit of your stomach--whether you're the one saying them or the one hearing them.  Certain conversations can be difficult, but they don't have to be.  In this course, you'll learn tools to help you understand the context, frame the conversation and better deliver the message in a way that it can be heard.  You'll practice your skills through role-playing exercises.  Whether you're talking with your employees, your boss, your spouse or your children, these techniques will help.

Preventing Workplace Harassment  How your employees treat each other is important.  Our training helps your employees understand how a seemingly simple, "off the cuff" remark can cause big problems for them personally and for the company.  We educate your team on the Title VII definition of Workplace Harassment and on your company's policies on harassment and accompanying penalties.  Don't assume they understand how to behave in our diverse working environment.  Teach them the skills, and help them choose appropriate behavior as your company defines it.

Time Management  This course helps you identify what gets in your way of making the most of your day.  We make it personal through our coaching style of instruction.  We won't teach you to use a Palm Pilot or Day Timer -- we'll teach you to use your head!
